Description

What happens if I mix my OSC ATIK color image stack with a deep dark-site L channel HD image? Seems to work.

L channel courtesy of Deep Sky West Observatory (deepskywest.com) - about 154 mins of integration. This is about 10 times longer on L than all my color channel data combined. The detail comes from the L image. The coloration comes from my quick look in my own back yard.

L Channel - FSQ 106EDXiii / QSI683wsg / Lodestar / Paramount MyT

The diagonal band image happens because our two cameras had different orientations. I clipped the visual to their intersection.

And yes, the two camera images had totally different image scales in addition to orientation and centering. But that's no problem for ImageRegistration in PixInsight. One image gets stretched dimensionally and rotated and translated, before I combined the channels.

-------------

Revision does it correctly, after I learned how LRGB should really be done.
